Genealogy Club

Our club’s Mission is to foster and nurture an interest in genealogy by providing instruction, information, and inspiration, while encouraging club members and others, in the development of family histories and genealogical records, for the benefit of future generations.
“In all of us there is a hunger, marrow-deep, to know our heritage — to know who we are and where we have come from. Without this enriching knowledge, there is a hollow yearning. No matter what our attainments in life, there is still a vacuum, an emptiness, and the most disquieting loneliness.”
~ Alex Haley, world-renowned genealogist
History remembers the famous — Genealogy remembers everyone!
Genealogists routinely do what historians cannot:
The logo’s 1857 family photo shows 7 children. From them, a six-generation lineage flowed, with more than 28,000 direct relatives. Thousands of them alive today -- and joyfully linked up . . . by a team of *amateur* genealogists who had learned all about modern researching tools, options and methods, -- exactly as *you can do* along with the neighbors and new friends you’ll meet in QCGC discussions, workshops, and our many social events.
Here’s what we picturesquely say on our club’s beautiful Home page image:
”Every family has a story . . . Let’s travel together -- discovering yours!”
We meet at 10 am on the first Wednesday of each month in the Ocotillo/Mesquite Room of the Kino Conference Center. We schedule frequent mid-month workshops and mentoring sessions throughout the year, warmly welcoming participants (and first-time visitors) with all levels of experience, from beginner to expert.
Our monthly meetings feature presentations by Guest Speakers and Education Committee members with decades of academic-level genealogy knowledge.
Experience the thrill of uncovering your lineage and family history.
